OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard Update

On June 10, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued an emergency temporary standard (ETS) on COVID-19.

On June 10, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued an emergency temporary standard (ETS) on COVID-19. Following its release, the ADA announced that dental practices are mostly exempt from the new ETS, as explained in ADA News and summarized in this fact sheet (member login required).

However, Washington has its own state level authority, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). WSDA is actively advocating for DOSH to update its rules based on OSHA's new guidance (see letters dated May 14 and June 17).

WSDA will continue this effort and will update members as soon as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,

Dr. Dennis Bradshaw
WSDA President
